Osceola County health care worker accused of inappropriately touching incapacitated patient

A health care worker in Osceola County has been arrested for allegedly touching an incapacitated patient inappropriately.According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, Amarnauth Seonath, who says he goes by “Ricky,” was arrested for allegedly touching a patient inappropriately while working at Florida HCA Poinciana Hospital as a transporter in radiology.”The victim was there because she suffered a stroke. She’s elderly. When this individual was transporting her to get some X-rays, he inappropriately touched her breasts, kissed her, and tried to stick his tongue in her mouth,” Osceola County Sheriff Marco Lopez said. Lopez says Seonath wasn’t even supposed to be in her hospital room and that this isn’t the first time he’s been cited for touching someone inappropriately at the hospital where he’s worked for about two and a half years.The first case, Lopez says, was never brought to the attention of law enforcement.”This is just sickening. It’s a betrayal of our trust in the health care profession, especially when we have our loved ones in vulnerable-type positions or states,” Lopez said.Lopez says he believes there are other victims out there and is asking anyone who may have experienced a similar situation to come forward.“Sometimes it takes a little bit of courage for someone to step forward, but justice always prevails, and today, the bad guy goes to jail,” Lopez said. Seonath is charged with elderly abuse and lascivious acts.We reached out to Florida HCA Hospital for comment and for the status of his employment. “We continue to assist the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department with their investigation, and this individual has been suspended,” a statement from a spokesperson read.
